Matching pair large rustic Immortals satsuma 19th C Japanese ginger jars

Description

Rustic lidded jars in a classic Japanese satsuma style.  Bold reds and golds on a cream colored base, immortals relax and children play in these matching tall barrel shaped ginger or storage jars. They are 9 x 7 inches or about 23 x 18 cm.  No hallmarks, I purchased these over 30 years ago from old estate. Classic 19th century Japanese pottery.  Both of these have numerous condition issues, including a rim chip in one jar, both jars lids are missing the lifting ceramic handle, crack inside one lid. gilt loss in place, and other wear. Neither of these will ring with tapped.  No hallmarks. Shipped double boxed Fed Ex ground.
